- 1) In 2007, Australia and East Timor agreed on an agreement establishing permanent maritime boundaries between the two countries for the equitable sharing of oil resources in the Timor Sea.
- 2) East Timor is a source country and for men, women and children victims of forced labor and forced prostitution. Some efforts were made nevertheless: a bill, not finalized, outlines procedures for screening potential trafficking victims.
